$100 Education Savings Bonus for Families

Families can open a new Embark account (Oregon’s official 529 education savings plan) for their kindergarten child with as little as a $25 initial deposit and receive a $100 bonus to jumpstart their education fund. For families who already have an account, Oregon also offers a refundable state tax credit for education savings contributions, worth up to $380 annually for joint filers.

Research shows that students with even a small education savings account are significantly more likely to pursue higher education. This partnership is designed to help more Oregon children start building that future early.
